I need to find Motorcycle Helmets that have NFL logos on them... Teams. I've tried looking everywhere but I've come up empty. Ten points for the first person to give me a reliable source. Thanks in advance!! :)

Travelling to Japan soon and interested in their aftermarket motorcycle parts such as exhaust for personal use. Could i put the exhaust in my luggage and bring back to Singapore? Will i be required to pay taxes? Is it legal to export items such as these personally? Are there any best option to go about bringing back the parts? Thanks in advance!

I ask because ive decided to get a motorcycle for the summer months. I have been riding for a few years but havent gotten the chance to ride an RC51. Maybe someone here has heard good or bad things about it. Just let me know if its a good bike or if I shouldnt even go near it. Thanks in advance!!! Oh has anyone dealt with Chicago Cycle, if anything I was thinking of going there to buy the bike that I end up choosing. Has anyone bought a bike from them or knows someone who did, is let me know how the experience was. Thanks again...

I have a Kawasaki ZX-11 and I just got it out for the summer. I checked the tires and they were really low (about 25 psi front, 30 rear). I noticed after filling them up to the recommended 40/40 the bike feels much heavier and in some/many ways harder to control on the corners (I pretty much live on a mountain). The rear tire is new and the front is due for replacement sometime this year. The bike weighs 585-615lbs wet, and I don't weigh enough to really anger the thing. I want to stick with the lower PSI as I like the feel of it. I know about the dangers of running exceedingly low PSI in the tires (thinking 25psi or less), but I want to know a low, yet safe, PSI I can run on it town and on the mountain. Thanks in advance!
I know what the sidewall information on the tire is for. What I was asking for is the lowest safe PSI I can run on with a mix of town and country riding. The ZX-11 is: 1997 model ZX1100D, engine is 1100cc, total riding weight is ~700lbs [including me], manual recommends 40/40 [cold psi] for a 6'2' rider weighing in at 200lbs. I'm 5'7" and 125lbs. The reason for this question was a discussion between me and a biker from yesteryear (read: 1940's).

I have never rode before, but after I am done with my riding class I want something light, cheap and not too powerful for the first year, as I will still be learning.

I am thinking of getting a Honda Rebel or a Kawasaki Ninja, but of these bikes I have listed which sounds best?

How many miles is too many on a used bike?

Kawasaki Ninja 250cc 2120 miles 00
2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250R 250cc 4400 miles 00
2000 Suzuki 250cc Cruiser 11450 miles 00
2001 Honda Rebel 250cc 2800 miles 00
2005 Honda CMX250 Rebel 250cc 9800 miles 00

Thanks in advance
BTW The first Ninja I listed is a 2004..

And wow, thanks for the answers so far guys!

Hello, my name is Gabe. I was involved in a pretty bad motorcycle accident in Oct of 2008. After years of uncompleted recovery, my circumstances are pulling me to getting another motorcycle (Secretly excited :D ) But one thing that I made sure before was SAFETY. I had a Shark S650 helmet(no head damage at all) , but since Ive been out of the loop, idk which brand offers more. Im only interested in these 3 brands: Shark, Shoei, and Arai. All the otherbrands, i wont trust (Friend broke 12 facial bones with a HJC one) So please, leave your input on the safest helmet that I can buy. Thanks in advance ;)

I would like to carry a Sportster and a Softail Heritage Classic on my utility trailer. I know they will fit if I stagger them. I am looking at these chocks.. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=97841 Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

A work buddy is selling his 1998 Yamaha VX 1100 Virago motorcycle for ,000 obo. It only has 3,000 miles on it, and looks brand new, so the price (probably try for ,500 seems right). I've been looking at buying a 2008 Suzuki SV650SF, little more street bike style, but that was stretching my wallet at around 00+ for a new one. I wouldn't mind owning the Virago for a year or two before buying a new SV650. Anyway, Can someone who has ridden or owns the bike write up a quick review? Pro's and Con's? I've tried to look online, and there doesn't seem to be much on the bike. The little that I have read seems good, but wouldn't hurt to see if anyone can provide any information on here.

Quick information about me;
Age - 21
Height - 6'1"
Weight - 180lbs
Style - Safe, but enjoys a little speed here and there.

I haven't ridden a bike for about a year. I wouldn't consider myself a total new rider, but not very experienced we'll say.

Thanks in advance, and happy riding.

We (my wife 5' 6"" and me 5' 11'') looking for bikes to go around the town and also sometimes for hiking (may be couple of times). Also we have a toddler daughter and planning to buy a trailer for her. Please advice on the model, make and also type of the bike which I should be buying. I live in Chicago area. Thanks in advance and appreciate your help.

Hi I will be purchasing a motorcycle for the first time very soon and wanted to know what kind of gear I should be looking to get as well. Also how much I should be looking to spend. I don't want to go all 'Wild Hogs' and buy a bunch of stuff I won't really need but I don't want to get too cheap and not get something that would help with safety or make riding more enjoyable.

Everyone agrees you need a good helmet, gloves, boots and jacket. Is there anything else I should be looking for. Also should I worry about getting an armored jacket in case of an accident? With prescription glasses would a 3/4 helmet be better then a full helmet? If I ride to work in dress pants would I need to wear chaps or would it be fine w/o them for the short commute?

I welcome all input. Thanks in advance.

Im currently 17 years old, 6ft, and around 130 lbs, and im looking for a good first STREET motorcycle to buy. I really want a GSX-R 600, but my parents are telling me not to start out on a GSX-R because they are VERY powerful, even the 600 one. I was just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on a motorcycle. Something that sounds looks good, and sounds great. Speed isn't THAT much of an issue, because i'd rather not kill myself on one by speeding. The bike doesn't HAVE to be Suzuki, but i'd appreciate it if it was, i love Suzuki's.
-Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to buy my first motorcycle and I've managed to narrow my choices down to motorcycles: a Kawasaki Ninja 250R and a Suzuki GS500F. I found both models at pretty much the same price used, no chance of buying new since this will be my first bike. Which one is a better choice? I won't be riding on the highway all too often but the occasional 1 or 2 hour ride is possible. Also on an optional side note, is the Yamaha FZ6R a good starter bike at all as the company claims? Thanks in advance.

I have a 69 suzuki t125.

For the record, this is a 2 cylinder 125cc 2 stroke motor. (you don't have to pre-mix the oil. it does it for you.

it's rated at about 15hp, and tops out between 70-80 depending on wind direction and if i'm crouched over the gas tank, etc.... in a tail wind wearing tighter clothing and a full faced helmet, i actually got 85 one time on the freeway...

I'll preface my question with this......

If i wanted to go 220 mph down the freeway, obviously i'd buy a hayabusa.

That's not what i'm looking for. I would however like to add an extra 3- 5 horsepower if possible to potentially help me keep speed when climbing a hill with my girlfriend on the back.

I will say this. I have ridden a LOT of bikes, and this bike handles better than any bike i have ever ridden to date. This includes Ninjas, CBR's, etc. it may not have a high top speed, but i can take a hair pin with no problems...

sorry.. back on topic..

Parts are NOT easy to find for this bike. they stopped producing parts for it 20+ years ago. back in the day, they had lots of performance parts for them, but finding one that specifically fits this bike is going to be nearly impossible... anything i do like exhaust or intake will have to be fabricated and made to fit by hand (which i can do to some extent).

SO... given that, what can i do to make it a little more powerful?

For the record also, it's a 6v system...

Thanks in advance for the legitimate and helpful answers.
hmm.. thanks.... yeah i wasn't sure if the 185 had the same style motor. i think the 250's are different. i'll have to check into that. i would be ok with upgrading it to a 185 if it mounts the same way.
-- the t185 has a different style motor that requires it to have a frame under the motor, but like you said, i may be able to make the barrels fit... i'll look into that.

I've made the decision to switch to a bike year round. Seeing as it's late September, people are already calling me "stupid," and "saying "what a horrible idea," and so on so forth. Well, I've sold my old car, and bought a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja, kept in great shape by a friend of mine, with only 4,500 miles. I would really like some advice on some year round gear. I have already bought the airforce jacket, by Rev-It, which came highly rated, via online, and the people at Colemans (of course.) I already shelled out for the spine protector insert, but I'm wondering what I should consider for winter. Pants? What helmets do you suggest? I'm borrowing one from a friend, and its a KBC, but the visor frequently fogs up, which is annoying. I love to ride, and I'm ready to be a serious biker, (even though coming home from work today in the rain scared the living **** outta' me!) Please help me make some decisions on gear, and quality gear, preferably gear that's not seasonal, and I can use year round! Also, any tips on weather condition riding, experience, etc. is more than welcome! Thanks in advance!
I guess I should add that I live in Washington D.C so you know what kind of weather I'll be dealing with. Keep in mind I'm not planning on riding in the snow or ice, (but also, does anybody here ever ride in snow?)

I'm looking for a set of pants like this: http://www.motodirect.com/servlet/Detail?no=807

BUT: I'm thinking, would I have to wear them everywhere once I got off the bike? I just bought a bike for year round riding, and I need something to protect my legs. I have a decent full face helmet (getting a new one soon) and I have a Rev-It, Airforce jacket, but I can't afford the matching price they want for the matching pants (I could, but I wont.) And if I happen to buy these pants, what size would I get, if I'm a 38 waist, and 6'2? Any suggestions will be more than welcome, and thanks in advance for your help! I'm not looking to spend more than 0 on them btw, and I'm also looking for a decent set of waterproof riding boots (Also only looking to drop about 0 on these.) Please keep in mind I'll also be winter riding! Thanks in advance for your help!
Kawasaki Ninja, 250

My wife, my 5 yo son and I can ride bike at normal speed on the bike trail. However, my 3 yo daughter on her bike with training wheels is slow and she gets tires fast. I have considered the seat that attaches to the back of my bike and also a bike trailer. However, the trailer costs over 0. When she grows out of it in a couple of years, it will be useless to us. Are there other options that I am not aware of? Thanks in advance.

Yamaha LG2 / YB50, 1972, 50cc - Body in good condition and running ok.

I am looking at buying this for a project, here's what needs to be done

Has no kick start so seller says it needs to be "crash started"? Also piston may need to be replaced later on as it has a small hole in it but still runs ok.

For a mechanically minded person (never worked on motorbikes) how easy/hard would it be to get this going like new. And also would it be easy to find parts like the piston and gaskets etc.

Thanks in advance.

im getting my learners permit soon, but before i do i want to do my research into protective gear because obviously motorcycle riding can be dangerous. ive decided i want to buy a yamaha xv250 virago for my first bike,
so i was wondering what the best protective gear to buy would be?
ive looked at many web sites but theres such a big range of gear that i dont know whats better. im mainly after the safest and most comfortable armoured gear (plus something that looks ok as well), money isnt really a big issue as long as the money is well invested. i want to buy every piece of protective gear from my helmet to boots to gloves to pants etc etc. and im after gear that is fairly visible (for obvious reasons).
obviously i'll prob have to go to the motorcycle shop and try on the gear
but i just wanted to get an idea of what types/brands etc of gear i should look at. also any other tips would be great!

thanks in advance

I am interested in buying a Suzuki GN125. It has 12,000 miles on the clock, a 125cc engine (i need a learner bike), is 8 years old, MOTed until November. The bike is in full working order but has a few minor cosmetic flaws. It's a gorgeous bike and I really like it. The Ebay listing is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270242599143&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

What do you think? It is at £650 so far and I would have to travel 44 miles to pick it up and pay £27 to hire a traillor (i wouldn't be comfortable riding it home that distance and I need to drive the car back).

How much should I go up to?

Thanks in advance.
I am in the UK, so I cannot use the American websites to check - I do not have a zipcode (it will not allow me to enter an English one).

I found an ad for a 2004 Suzuki GS500F for 00.

The bike only has 1,200 km on it. The owner bought it but I guess never had time to ride it. He says he has not ridden it for the last 3 years and just wants to get rid of it because it's just taking up space. Last year he started the bike but never rode it. He hasn't done any tune up on it at all... even the 1000km tune up you're supposed to do with new bikes. It's never been dropped and it's still mint condition.

This is going to be my first bike so my question...

Is this a good deal? Are there any problems you guys foresee with this bike not having been ridden for so long? For sure it will need a tune up but do bikes have problems after it hasn't been ridden in years?

There's another bike (2007 model of same bike) that I'm looking at for 00 that has 3600km and has been maintained from day one... babied and even the 1000km tune up, several oil changes, etc. Also this other bike has extended warranty that expires Sept 2010.

I don't want to buy cheap and it will end up costing me more in the long run.

What would you suggest??

Thanks in advance!!! =)

I just bought my first motorcycle, and I need some gear. I got a good helmet with a face shield and now I would like a jacket.

I believe a textile is a little thinner than leather but just as dense and I believe there are zippered vents in the front of some.

What are the advantages of one over the other?

I am not going to be riding long distances or very frequently; just a couple times a week.

Other than padding in the elbows, what else should I look for?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I found a nail pretty much dead center of the tire, nowhere near the sidewall. The tire is actually still fully inflated. The tire only has 3200 miles on it, and I cannot afford 0 for a new one with labor. Is it safe to patch the tire? I have read many mixed opinions on this topic. THanks in advance!

ok.. before all you safety nuts blow a gasket, the motorcycle is a old 400cc that we cut about a ton of crap off and made a little bobber. its just to cruze around town. it is not a race bike i will kill myself on, its not a 2000lb hog. i DO NOT need 0 tires to be safe. i could put 4 new bfg's on my van for less thsn 0 for f's sake. i don't even have 0 into the whole bobber project. i want new CHEAP tires. i don't care about speed rating, weight limits, anything better then the dry rotted ones on there. if i ever run it over 40mph it would be a miracle. it'll never see a highway. its about 200lbs less then factory and has 1 seat. if i can't get 2 new tires on the net for around , i'll just run the old ones or look for some used ones around here. thanks in advance everyone.

I am thinking about purchasing a 250cc sportbike. It will be my first bike, and safety is the most important issue to me. I am definitely going to wear a helmet and all the gear money can buy, but I need help choosing which helmet. The problem with helmets is that it takes away from your peripheral vision. Which full helmet should I buy that will give me the most viewing capacity all while protecting my whole head? Riders help! Thanks in advance.
