hey i just wanted to know i live in queens newyork and i wanted to know how can i get my motorcycle liscence? i wanna buy a sport bike a yamaha but i need my liscence to use it
I am a 23 year old graduating college who is getting the motorcycle itch. I am aware of the 0+ estimated extra costs beyond the motorcycle itself (helmet, riding jacket, etc).
I am thinking of taking some beginner courses to see if motorcycling is for me & getting my motorcycle endorsement. If I like it so far, I will then consider buying a Sport bike. I don't want a sport bike to be an idiot and go moronically fast, only in city/highway speeds. I just have never liked cruiser bikes all that much in terms of style and how I sit on them.
From reading, the Kawasaki Ninja 250 would seem like a good choice - used of course since the preponderance of the info says I will drop it in the first year or so.
What other brands should I keep in mind at the dealer and craigslist?
or
Am I just an idiot who is bound to kill himself and should turn away before even spending a dime?
Thanks
I spoke with my auto insurance agent this morning (at American Family). She said the following:
1. Full coverage insurance on an everyday 2004 (500cc) Honda Motorcycle would run me about 0/year.
2. I can't get any kind of coverage on a sport bike until I've had my motorcycle license for 10 years; and even if I did, it would cost me ,000/year.
Please tell me everything you know about motorcycle insurance. Do I even need it? I want to buy a used sport bike (600cc or less) and spend around k for it. If something happens, it's not like I'm wrecking a k new car or even my primary transportation - and the cost to fix it wouldn't be that bad. Even if it was, at ,000/year for insurance, I might as well just take my chances, right?
I'm a 22 year old male. I will be taking the motorcycle safety course in late spring or early summer this year. I will then get my motorcycle license.
My issue is that I CANNOT GET insurance for a sport bike, even if I was willing to pay ,000. They said I need to have a license for 10 years and I'm not willing to wait around for a decade.
Who will give me coverage on a sport bike for cheap being an inexperienced rider?
She knows I'm responseable enough but is afraid of her little boy growing up. My dad is ok with it as long as she is.
1. I'm 15, 2 mouths from my 16th birthday
2. The bike is a Buell Blast
http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/blast/blast/features.asp
3. They're planing on buying me a car, but the bike is only 4,500
4. I like the looks of sports bikes and how they feel, so I'm not going to speed cause I know I can get hurt doing that on a bike.( I know everybody says that)
5. South Carolina doesn't require helmets but I plan on wearing one along with other safty gear
6. gas mileage is alot better on bikes which is good with gas prices now. (It gets 75 mpg for gods sake)
7. The only wrong reason I want one is that girls I know like guys who ride bikes.
they wear planing on getting me a car a long time before I even wanted the bike
I have a job and i'm going to pay for it, insurants too.
I am thinking on also getting the car, their getting it from a car auction
I'm going to be paying for half the car anyways, and i'm not expereist enough to ride when it's raining.
I really only plan on useing it to get to school an back.
I AM also going to get the car
The Blast is one of the best starter bikes around so what the hell am I sapost to learn on.

I've wanted a motorcycle for a while, and the "crotch rocket" type of bike really appeals to me. I'm a circle track stock car racer, so I'm addicted to fast machines, but I have NO clue where to even start with motorcycles (in fact, the thought of hopping on a sport bike sort of scares the **** out of me). My price range is 00 or below, I've checked some websites and really like the Kawasaki ZZR600 and the Yamaha YZF600R, but I don't know what brands have good/bad reputations, which bikes handle better than others, or any of that stuff. Can anyone offer some advice for a beginner?
The wheels are chrome, and are on the bike, I'm not taking them off myself. Also its a sport bike.
I bought the tires already, I'm just curious to know what I might be looking in labor costs actually.
I just got my motorcycle permit the other day and was plannign on buying a bike to learn on. Of these two bikes which would you choose? Also, what is easier to learn on, a sport bike or a cruiser?
I have been looking for a long time now but cant find what I am looking for. I need to find sport bike tires that are white wall for a ninja 600
Just got my first bike and I'm looking for a helmet. I absolutely don't want anything fancy, just something that will keep my noggin safe and hopefully under 0. I'd like a full face one since I'm on a sport bike. Thanks!
I'd like to buy a big sport bike, but I commute on my motorcycle. I take weekend trips. I can't justify ,000 on a track day toy. How can I make my liter bike into something I can ride comfortably for hours? Something that will hold not just a rain suite, but also my lunch and book to read on break?
I looking at a sport bike. Yamaha R6 or Suzuki Gsxr750 Im looking to buy a used one maby 05 or 06 Which is best for street, canyons beach etc.
O.K. so tax return is coming in and I want a sport bike. I have never owned or driven a motorcycle before so I need something beginner worthy but when I learn I don't want to go and have to buy another one. I would like one that is a sturdy bike that is around the ,000 range. A couple of my buddies have Suzuki GSXR's and they say the are good but I want some diffrent opinons. P.S. if anyone around the St. Louis MO area has one that matches my wants let me know.
I am 5'5" in height and plan on purchasing a motorcycle bike.
Do any of you have good recommendations for a decent sport bike for my height? I was looking at the yamaha R6, but I went to a dealer yesterday and I was tippy-toeing.
The more help the better. Thank you!
I've saw a trailer being pulled by a Sport bike today and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get one for my CBR. It wasn't linked to the swingarm it was somehow linked to the tail section. any help would be great thanks
I have an open trailer and want specific advice regarding how to transport a sport-bike (Honda CBR1000) without damaging it or the trailer.
I am planning a road trip on a motorcycle, which I don't have yet, next Spring.. like May.
I'm not getting a Harley type I'm getting a sport bike.. that's final.
I need to know if anyone has any suggestions on what I can get for a sport bike that will allow me to pack clothes, my laptop, and so on.
Plain and simple, I want a sport bike and i've narrowed my search down to either a Honda CBR 600RR or a suzuki GSX-R 750. Which one should I get?
I have a 200cc lifan sport bike, the rear sprocket hub is broken. where can i buy one? everyone i talk to cantor wont help me. i know its a cheap bike but i just want parts.......... please help!!!!
I'm going to be buying a sport bike pretty soon, and I am required by law to wear a helmet. My wife is worried that we won't be able to talk. Can't I buy a helmet that I can talk to her and it comes through her helmet speaker?
On the same note, are there helmets that allow you to listen to the radio?
I decided that my first motorcycle is going to be a Suzuki, but I am torn between the SV650 standard bike and the V-Strom 650 dual-sport bike. I seriously like them both and I am asking this to gain a little insight to aid me in my decision. I prefer to those who answer this question that you be honest, unbiased, as well as current or previous owners of the 2 afore-mentioned motorcycles.
I am 19yrs old, I rode motorcycle five years ago and stopped. I am 5'11 and weigh 165lbs
Should I get a yamaha R1, A suzuki hayabusa or a suzuki gs 1000r??
Any feedbacks? I am leaning more to a sport bike if you can see.
I'm looking to buy some metzler M3 sport bike tires for my motorcycle or something comparable. The local dealer wants 0 for the rear tire plus installation. Thats just crazy when I notice online that I can get the tire for 150 in the states but they don't ship to canada. So are there any good online stores that ship to canada? Thanks.
