I am looking online for tires for my son's street motorcycle. I am looking at the Dunlop, which is what is on their now. How do you tell a decent motorcycle tires from a crap one? HIs bike is a Yamaha YZF 600R, if that makes a difference.
I have mild dry-rot on the sidewalls (NOT the tread) of my motorcycle tires. It is not to the point where the tires are losing pressure (I've checked them daily for the last month)...
...But I am wondering if there is anything I can put on the tires to prevent the cracks from getting larger or, better yet, fill the existing cracks permanently (IE rubber cement perhaps)?
I am also wondering what the chance of blow-out is for a tire not losing any air pressure...
I can't find anything using simple web searches like, land speed tires, or salt flats tires. I've tried the Goodyear site and many other sites, but can't find anything other than pro-grade drag racing tires or nascar circle track tires. I'm only in the idea stages of my project right now but, if my numbers are right- the project I'm planning to build could go over 300 MPH. I can't risk using ultra-high speed motorcycle tires even at there ratings. I don't know where to go or who to talk to because it's a very small feild of racing, that not many people are into. Bonneville salt flats-Blackrock mountains flats- long distance land speed racing.
For safety reasons. Lets say that I want to replace my motorcycle tires before they develope a problem such as a bulge. Whats the recommended maximum run life of a motorcyle tire?
and not a factory reject. it's on ebay and all the seller is saying is that it "looks new". is there a published list of recalls on motorcycle tires?
Was wondering where is a good web site to find motorcycle tires and rims. Preferably somewhere i can see what i am buying. I have found some places that basically only give you a description of the item.
I am from Pune-India. I am looking for good quality, economical motorcycle tires for my Kawasaki Ninja 500cc 1993 model. The sizes are 130/90-16 (rear) and 110/90-16 (front). Where can I find them? What would be cost?
I'm looking for some 3.25x16 and 3.00x16 tires from Coker Tire, but they want to ship them to North Carolina. I think they are smoking pcp. Who else sells vintage motorcycle tires that might not show up on the google? Like goodyear grasshopper type
There are some tomahawk tires on ebay, the company specializes in remanufactured tires. They are 86 dollars, which is great because im on a tight budget. They are x-rayed and stuff. Does anyone have any experience on remanufactured motorcycle tires? thanks
Looking for reliable sources for low cost motorcycle tires.
Does anyone know where to find a wholesaler for motorcycle tires and products?
I'm looking for something to put on my motorcycle tires that will make them look black & shiney. I don't want to use Armor All or Son of a Gun but I know there's something that different people use,so I'm open to all suggestions
I am considering trying Kings motorcycle tires on my 1988 gsx600 katana. The model of tire is kt-9871 and kt-9872. They are around 50 bucks a tire and looks to be a good deal. I am just occationaly riding this bike and commuting sometimes. No race days or any crazy stuff. Do you think I need to have them balanced or just slap them on myself?
Thanks.
If you know anyother inexpenseve tires that may work for this bike please let me know. Sizes are Front 110/80h 17 Rear 140/80h 17.
The Kings tires are a lower profile than what came stock. I cannot go any wider than 150 on the rear according to others on the internet.
I'm talking about tire shine stuff, like black magic. Being on two narrow tires seems like it might be dangerous to have any oily stuff on the tires. Do they make some kind of tire dressing that is safe on motorcycle tires?
I don't even have a motorcycle right now. I'm not asking if I can do it, I'm asking hypothetically.
I thought it seemed like a bad idea. But I do see pictures of cycles on ebay where the person has put black magic on the tires.
I would like to clean my motorcycle tires to ensure that I don't loose traction. What should I clean them with.
I'm thinking household dishwashing liquid, with a good rinse. This would cut through most things including oil.
How do you change tubeless motorcycle tires and what tools/materials are needed?
