I took a trip to California & rented a Harley recently. There were some GREAT routes to cruise around on out there! Nice turns, mountains, great views, & minimal traffic.

I live in the Cleveland area & am relatively new to riding. I have a nice Harley & want to find similar routes in this area. Any ideas?

BTW, I am talking about nice country-side rides, not stuff in the city. I like Lake Rd. out toward Vermillion, but it is so straight it gets boring I like some twists 'n turns. There are alot of bikers out this way, somebody has got to know of a great scenic route!

There is a girl that lives two houses down from me in a Pink house her name is Kamila. How do I approach her and ask her to ride on the back of my motorcycle? Do you think she would like to go for a ride and also If she agrees what color helmet should I buy her? I'm thinking pink with a Unicorn sticker on the back of it I think she would like it! Also I don't own a harley do you think she would still like me and my motorcycle? (2008 Street Triple)

I usually would go through my honda dealer but they just recently changed owners and have been being a real pain to deal with. does anyone know of a reputable source for cruiser tires, hopefully one that will ship to Alaska for less than an arm, leg, and left nut?
so... the people who said JCW... have you seen what it costs to have them ship to AK? well, i know you don't cuz you woulndt have said it.

and honda and harley are the only dealers in town.

I’m looking to buy myself a motorcycle this summer. I’ve got about 00 to spend on a used cruiser. I’ve been looking at Honda’s and Yamaha’s. (cant afford a Harley and I don’t want a sportster 883) But I’m just wondering what my ambitions should be. I’m looking for a daily commuter and something I can put my wife on the back of and we can roam the country roads. So can a mid size 750cc provide enough power I might want. I’m a entry level rider and I don’t need to turn anyone’s heads either. Just looking for the biggest bang for the buck with enough to move two people around. Also the only decent search engine I can find is cycle trader.com or browsing Ebay. But anyone that has an opinion on any of this please it’s welcomed. Also I’m a soldier in central Texas so I’d like to get something at lest in the state. Thanks to anyone that replies.
Scouts Out!

I just bought a Harley and want a German motorcycle helmet to go with it. Are there any sites with good information about German style helmets for motorcycles so I'll know I'm getting a quality lid?

My bf & I are taking a motorcycle trip next week on his Harley(2005 Sportster) We r visiting my parents in Iowa, then taking a trip north to Minnesota/Wisconsin. However, my a$$ kills me on these trips. Is there a way to cushion my butt on this trip without having to buy a new seat?
LOL... I am not wearing a diaper
Awww Reality Check. U my buddy, but I'm too hot to be in a side car. LOL

I'm looking into buying a VTX1800N
And I'm wondering if any Honda owners could give me any insight into what Chrome & Extras I should add. (Safety wise more than looks) What are the must haves?

Please no "American V.S. Jap bike" quips... I own a Harley, I love it and will never get rid of it, It's just getting on in years and the newer ones are out of my price range.

Alright so when i was in Myrtle Beach for bike week there was a guy who had a tire on his motorcycle and he was doing burnouts in the color of red smoke and red marks on the ground. I can not find out where to get them and would like to get one in green. The tire looked normal but left colored smoke and marks on the ground. The tire would be on a bike bigger than a harley by a long shot and it is not a cafe bike. Where do i find a tire like this?

I just bought a Yamaha YZ, and I was hoping to register it so I can drive it on the street. Mainly just so I can get motorcycle insurance through my insurance company if I want. It would be nice for when I rent Harley's and stuff. Also so I can drive it down the street to my buddy's if I wanted.

Does anyone know what I would need to do so I can do this? I live in Washington State.

Looking into buying a Yamaha V-Star 250 (would love a harley but can't afford it) But anyways from guys point of view What do most think about girls who ride motorcycles. Would love to get a speed bike like a Yamaha FZ6
Then there better be some guys in sidney, ohio that thinks its hott!

My rear tire on my Harley has a roofing nail in it. I want to repair it.

I am, admittedly, a novice motorcyclist. Based on recommendations from friends I went out and bought a new bike recently. To say I have had problems would be an understatement. I have been told, again by friends, that this is normal. Yesterday I took the bike back to the dealer to again try and have a problem repaired and had an interesting conversation with the service department. When I asked about what was causing the problem, he suggested that I needed more accessories for the bike and proceeded to try and sell me some leather bags. When I asked him how that was going to help me with my problem he said this: "Son, don't you know what kind of bike you own, these so called problems you are experiencing are just part of riding, relax, buy your self something new for the bike and don't let anyone convince you there is any thing wrong with the bike. So I ask you all out there in Cyberspace: "What kind of a bike do I own"?
Thanks for the initial responses. I obviously know the manufacturer of the bike, some have guessed it correctly. The question is; "What kind of bike do I own"? The service guy's comments are what prompted the question when he implied (Stated) I was suppose to just accept the situation and buy something "Shiny".
OK OK I give, Its a Harley Sportster, my problem is that parts just fall of of it and vibrates so hard my hands hurt when I park it. I took a riding course prior to buying it and rode an older Honda (Much Older). That bike was so incredibly smooth (At least in comparison) that I was really looking forward to just going out and riding around the country side. But now I just want to park it and proably sell it. What is acceptable here? The dealership and my friends have been no help as they just expect me to accept the situation.
Liked all the answers but I'll tell you; I would rather ride it than have to work on it. I just sold it and bought a Yamaha V-Max. WOW, what a difference. Perfectly smooth and no parts falling off. My friends are unhappy but if I have to locktite parts back on to keep them from falling off? Well, I seriously doubt I'll ever own another Harley! Yamaha Dealership was also much more focused on what I needed to ride safely instead of "Shiny" items. Again thanmks for all the input.

I have a motorcycle that I intend to buy and it won't start. Being that it is so cheap, I just want to go ahead and get it--but at least make sure fixing it won't cost as much as a new Harley or something. It's going to either be a Honda, a Suzuki, or a Kawasaki. Leaning towards the Honda. Anyone know somewhere I can take it? And/or somewhere I can buy parts?
Ok, let me add that the motorcycle is going to cost me only 0. So, no, it's not a rip-off, because even if I can't get it started (which shouldn't happen because my whole POINT is I'm going to get a diagnostic before I even buy it), I can use it for parts or fix it up myself. Yes, even as a woman, I can fix it myself, but I wouldn't mind spending to save the trouble by discovering the problem. So it's barely a dip in my wallet, I've spent more on a fancy dinner, and it's no more of a waste of money.

So, please, stop concentrating on what you think of the deal, and give me a good answer if you have one. Thank you.

I haven't ridden for 10 years. I am in a climate where I can ride year round. What bikes are best for customer satisfaction? Harley? Honda? Yamaha? kawasaki? Which ones handle the best and are the toughest to lay down? thanks.

I don't mean a harley either, I mean a sports bike pulling a dirt bike. I can always make my own but I just want to make sure there aren't any available first.

Thanks!

I bought a helmet from a guy who smoked and still smoked. the inside wreaks of smoke and I need to clean it. I put some antibacterial fa breeze in it but it only lasted for a couple days then the smell came back. How do you clean a motorcycle (the kind you use on a Harley) helmet.
what do i do if the source of the smell is not the liner but the inside of the helmet itself (not the insulation area but the area where I breath or where the Velcro is?
the liner doesn't come out but it is only attached around where you neck is. so I can lift it up just not take it out.

I am planning a road trip on a motorcycle, which I don't have yet, next Spring.. like May.

I'm not getting a Harley type I'm getting a sport bike.. that's final.

I need to know if anyone has any suggestions on what I can get for a sport bike that will allow me to pack clothes, my laptop, and so on.

I'm in the market to buy and have narrowed to down to between a Honda and a Harley - Thoughts anyone ??

Just bought my first motorcycle helmet and I was wondering if putting stickers or decals messes up the strength of the helmet? Thank you.
berrytra...No I don't have OCD, Im just asking a simple question about a helmet. Geeze!!!!!
I bought a Caberg helmet and I bought a couple stickers at the iron pony motorcycle shop. I don't have a bike yet but I want a Harley!

ps. i dont have credit history, thought that would be important
i have a job, and i have couple thousand saved up.
i ODNT WANT TO GET A HARLEY, i want like a yamaha or kawasaki(sp)

I can't understand why anyone would rather trailer their bike than ride it to their destination! This is NOT an anti-Harley question - I'd love to own one!

Any thoughts?
Pedro, I haven't but hubby just completed the 'Iron Butt" challenge on Saturday where he and 2 other bikes rode 1,000 miles in 18 hours. He had a blast, but was very, very tired AND yes, his bike (Suzuki Volusia Intruder) is filthy!!! But - he had fun, and that's all that matters!
Amen, Jerry! Love the 'nads reference -- I guess some bikers just don't have 'em! Plus, if you're like my hubby, he absolutely LOVES giving his bike a bath! (what's up with that?) heh heh heh
Randy, just the fact that you've invited your wife to ride along is sweet, add to the fact that you're considering her recuperation from back problems is just wonderful! I totally understand trailering in your case! Hope she feels better really soon!

ok in my class we have to build a motorcycle trailer made of aluminum to hold 2 bikes it says it must be capable of trainsporting 2 full size modern Harley deressers....i have no idea what im doing and i need to answer a lot of questions about it but my teachers not here for a while.

1.What type of raw materials are used to build similar trailers? And where and how are those materials used?

2.List and describe 5 common components/parts that should be found on each and every motorcycle trailer

3. List 2 styles of axle that could be used for our trailer. What type of axle should we use and why? Sketches may help.

4. How do existing trailer manufacturers account for the loading and unloading of the bikes?

5. How much floor space in feet and inches will be necessary to haul the bikes? How did you get these numbers?

6.What lights are we required by law, or industry standard, to have on a motorcycle (i live in New York if there are different laws per state) There are specific types of lights for certain applications. What type of lights do we need to use and should they be located in a certain position/location on the trailer? If so specify these locations.

7. We will need to purchase some of the standard components that are found on many trailers. Provide me with a list of three companies, local or on-line, which sell trailer components. Describe where they are located, the type of product lines they sell, and contact information.

I do need the sources that you got this information from...unless you know this off the top of your head then i can refrence this website
Thanks!
EDIT-im in 10th grade and the class is world of tech....he assumes we know about the class but i came in clueless and hes not here for a while...he wants to build it out of aluminum so it's lighter and we ARE building it...ill probably be doing dumb work so i dont mess it up just like building a tool rack like he made me do when they were building the bike...go to edenchopperclass.com thats our website the teacher and a few students are going to the competition in MN so i can't ask him anything and im honestly clueless

Whats a good place to buy bikes online????

I am looking for a Honda Shadow Preferably a 750 since i am sort of small.
i am currently in iraq but i want the bike at my house for when i get home. and i dont care about the local econamy...

My home is in texas the only reason i moved a place like indinana is for my husband/.. stupid indiana.
I have thought about that. but Harley's are expensive and i am not sure i am ready for that much bike. plus my hubby has a Honda shadow 1100 so i would kind of liek to have a smaller model of what he has. I think its just hot when couples bike compliement each other. you know his and hers. Kind of girly i know but hey what can i say.

I'm torn between a Big Harley or a Honda because I hear the Honda's are much more reliable. I like the looks of a Harley but from what I have read about them, I'm a little skeptical. I'm looking at the cruisers like the GL1800.
