OK. I know nothing about motorcycles and/or cars. But I was backing out of my driveway and scuffed the side of my dad's side bags that are attached to his 650CS BMW motorcycle. It is pretty hard to tell, only he and I can really see it since we know, but I feel awful about it and was wondering, since the actual bags are made of plastic and are lined with aluminium on the outside if I can just buy a new alumnum casing to attach to it. I'm trying to suprise him and was wondering if anyone who has had a similar situation can tell me if that is even possible and where I can purchase it. Thanks!

Where can i find BMW motorcycle mechanic shop 9NO DEALER) to change oil or for simple repair work near san mateo, fremont, redwood city, san carlos
Bay area (San Francisco California)

I have a bmw motorcycle and i have it in the garage and well its getting very dirty because of all the dust and so i was wondering where can i get something that goes over the motorcycle and covers it. I already went to bmw. com and theres nothing there.

The Army is sending me to Germany. I know BMW has dealers overseas that sell US spec cars to military and diplomats, does anyone know if they sell motorcycles too? If not, how can I import a BMW bike from Germany?
No guns for me. However, I might consider bringing some MP5s to resell them stateside.

The AAFES dealership only sells American brands, and they don't even carry GM anymore.

When I was in Korea I remember they had BMW and Volvo dealerships that did military sales, same as buying from AAFES, no sales tax, etc, and the car you bought was US spec, you could choose US or Korea delivery. I don't remember the BMW dealer selling bikes, but they did sell MINIs. I believe since I;ll be in Germany and he bikes are made there the dealer might have access to bike sales if I ask, I might even be able to get a US model. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I want to buy a new BMW 2009 R1200GS Adventure at a local dealer. The MRSP price with add-ons at the dealer is ,500. How much should I offer to get a good deal?

Any advice on buying a new BMW motorcycle would be appreciated. Thanks ~

Suzuki Hayabusa or Kawasaki Ninja ZX 14 Monster Engery?
Perhaps a BMW HP2 Sport, Apprilla RSV1000R Factory, MV Agusta F4 RR 312 1078, Ducati Superbike 1098 R, or a Buell 1125R?
Is a 0,000 MV Agusta F4CC really worth the money if I want the best bike out there?
Does the better handling on 1000cc bikes like the Honda CBR1000RR and the Yamaha YZF R1 make up for their smaller engines?
Are there any other bikes I should know about?

Basically, there are a lot of super sport motorcycles that claim to best. I want to know which one really has the best performance. I don't have much of a restriction on how much I can pay, but I can't pay millions for a pro racing bike, and if a ,000 dollar bike is amazing I don't want to pay 0,000+.
I am an experienced rider with track training on pro motorcycles. I can handle just about any motorcycle.
I know places where I can go fast. A 650 is not enough.
Looking for a new bike, not a classic.
Fine, I am not a pro, but I needed a way to convince you guys to give me information other than "you need a smaller bike, you will never need to go that fast." I just want to know what is out there these days. Keep the answers coming.
Not liking the V-Max

As far as I remember, BMW stopped making the "airhead" boxers in 1995. Is there anything intrinsically better with either design? To people who've owned both; what are your opinions? Which one did you like better?

I am considering getting a motorcycle for mostly mountain trail riding but would like to use it on the road also. Must be street legal. What do you think of the BMW motorcycles?

I want to surprise my husband to be with a wedding BMW garter. I'm looking where to find one?, either online-in a catalog, or at some store. My fiance loves bmw motorcycles! I live in Wisconsin. Thanks!

I am looking to buy my first motorcycle in 20 years and i really want a bmw. i would like to stay under , 000. Anybody have an idea what would be a good used bmw for getting around town and the occasional trip?

I live in Southern California and am looking for motorcycle gear that I can wear year round.
1) I'm not at all interested in high-priced gear, such as Vanson, Bohn, BMW, etc.
2) Style and protection, alongside comfort are all factors.
3) I'm buying a High Velocity body armor piece for impact protection, so jacket armor isn't a big issue.
4) Not interested in leather.

Thanks..

And if you know of any great sites, let me know..

So far I've totalled up about 0 for body armor, pants, boots, jacket, gloves and helmet.

I'm really on the look out for a nice textile jacket/pants combo I like.
Oh and price.. Price is definitely a factor. I'm even looking in classifieds.
I've narrowed it down to pants and gloves. Textile pants, and armored gloves. I missed out on a pair of joe rocket phoenix pants... Makes me a sad panda. = /

Hi
I have a bunch of friends here in Santa Barbara who have BMW motorcycles and I would like one as well. I've always liked BMW motorcycles.
What would be a comfortable fit for a guy with short legs?
I like the classic BMW's as well as the newer ones and am not willing to buy a new (expensive) bike.
Thanks for the help.
Mike

I'm using trail wings right now but they don't last very long.Is there something better?
The bike is a BMW F650 (1999)

I'm looking for a new, full sized touring bike for me and the misses and need help sorting out my options. BMW motorcycles makes three full size touring bikes: the R1200RT, the R1200LT and the K1300GT. Not having ridden any of them, I have no frame of reference to choose one over the other.

The bike is for me and my wife. She wants a Goldwing--no question. I'm afraid the Wing will be too heavy as I have good days and bad days and don't want to drop the darned thing because my legs are a bit wobbly that day. I will mostly use the bike as a commuter vehicle with a couple of week long trips per year--possibly pulling a trailer (not to carry more stuff, but to keep most of the weight off the bike). My riding style is mildly sporty--I don't ride that fast, but enjoy swooping around corners. I used to have a Kawasaki 1200 Voyager that I loved. We looked at the new Voyager and hated it--too freaking heavy! I currently ride a Burgman 650 maxi scooter (575 #). MSF trained. I know how to lean, brake, counter steer and handle a big bike in the parking lot.

So, which BMW do you recommend and why?
If you want to recommend the Wing, please tell me why.

Motorcycle was destroyed in accident and is not available - BMW keys are lost to open side cases - how do I go about getting the locks opened and replaced for new locks for the least amount of money ?

Thinkin about the sporty K1200S, its beautiful and fast. How are BMW motorcycles in general?

BMW Duo Sport approx 550 lbs.

I HAVE A COMPLETELY RESTORED WHITE 1958 BMW MOTORCYCLE AND HAS BEEN IN STORAGE SINCE IT WAS RESTORED IN 1994. ANY INFO ON VALUE WOULD BE APPRECIATED .
IT IS MODEL R69 594cc

Found the answer: sorry
The term "beemer" started as an acronym for the abbreviation "BMW," adapted from the early-20th century British pronunciation of BSA (as "beeser" or "beezer"), whose motorcycles were often racing BMWs. Over time, the term became closely associated with BMW motorcycles.

The term "bimmer" was later coined to refer (exclusively) to BMW automobiles. As such, use of the word "beemer" to refer to a BMW automobile is frowned upon by some BMW enthusiasts, because it is the term used for motorcycles. Although the distinction is completely arbitrary, to this day, the media, movies, and most people still use the term "beemer" to refer to the automobiles. Interestingly, in the German language, the correct pronunciation of the term "bimmer" is "beemer."

The initials BMW are pronounced "beh emm veh" in German.

BMW is also the abbreviation in the UK for a cocktail of Baileys, Malibu and Whisky.

What financial institutions operating in California will offer me a secure personal loan if I put up my BMW motorcycle as collateral? Looking online I only seem to find financial institutions that allow people to offer their homes or home equity or cars as collateral. I'm in California and I am currently unemployed.

I know it was a bmw but what model was it. i wanna know.

I need parts for my BMW F650. Where is the best place to order them? Also, if possible, a recommendation for a good mechanic just in case. Thanks!
besides dealer. Thx.
thanks for all your responses. oops, forgot to mention where i'm at... a mechanic in between San Francisco and Burlingame is ideal.
