I currently own a ’07 Harley davidson "ultra" touring bike. I tend to buy my parts online from places like dennis kirk or J&P Cycle it’s usually much cheaper than trying to buy from a dealer or local shop. I buy them when I need them, unless it is a project, then I usually buy them at the beginning of winter and spend the cold winter weather inside my garage doing the changes and installing parts etc.
http://www.thedesertcamel.co.uk ive a few…parts bought anytime of the year…mostly of ebay
800 kawaski vulcan
I buy during the winter. Everything is on sale at the local stores.
i ride a Yamaha YZ125
i want a Yamaha YZ250
i buy parts and accesories through out the year.
i buy from online suppliers and ebay and local stores.
I built my dream bike when I was in college (I graduated in ’06). It is a rigid old school chopper with ape hangers, straight pipes, and a 100 ci engine. I would like to also own a Road King Custom for the long trips, but they discontinued that model. Maybe just a Road King with Leather hard bags and no windshield..
I buy parts when I need them. My chopper is pretty bare. I have a wife and a baby on the way so I try not to spend a lot of money on the bike. I have a couple ideas for it and I’ll probably do the work myself.
I buy from my local HD dealership because I used to work there. They still let me have the employee discount (15% above cost – comes out to about 50% on most things). Other than that, I’ll buy from J&P Cycles (www.jpcycles.com).
lets see now, 62 panhead, 76sportster,72ss sprint, 71triumph bonneville,71 triumph tr6r ,71hondacb750, 71yamaha650 all them are choppers I hate stock bikes I dont buy stuff I fabricate my own stuff
Currently I ride a Suzuki SV650S. Not big, not exceptionally fast but it’s getting used for commuting so it doesn’t need to big or fast. But it’s nearly enough fun to mean I won’t be selling it too soon!
I like my sports tourers, so something like a big Honda VFR sounds pretty good to me. Failing that I nearly bought a Firestorm… didn’t get it purely on the grounds that it was two hundred miles away… and the SV was fifteen miles.
Might still end up with it if the missus goes for me getting a bigger bike and her having the SV!
I buy stuff as and when I need it; just bought a new tank bag last week. That was from a shop on ebay. I bought a new jacket and gloves last year, from Hein Gericke, and a Shoei helmet from the place where I bought my recently written off Honda.
I own an ’07 Softail Deuce. I do most of my shopping for the bike during the riding season, but major work that can be stalled is done during the winter.
I usually check out J&B Cyclery for the part number or a definitive name for what I want. Then I google it to see who may have the part or accessory. If the price difference is not too steep, I still try to buy the products locally, especially from the small, independent dealers. These (usually) men generally are not making tons of money and need the business. Besides, it’s nice to hang out with other riders and talk shop while I’m there.
had 73 Sportster bought parts for it thru J&B cycles sold bike ,now I have 07 Sportster and by from the local Harley dealer as I need parts, purchased my custom pipes for it online at PipeDreamz.net ,I get most of my riding gear and tires from the Cycle Gear store in my area they also have an online store
> What kind of motorcycle do you own or want to own?
I own a 1985 Yamaha Virago 700 ratbike. It has 85,000 miles on it, and is way past its "best when used by" date.
I want to own a 1996 Honda Pacific Coast 800, or a BMW F650GS-P or a Suzuki V-Strom 650.
> During what time of the year do you generally buy accesories/parts for your ride?
The battery dies in December. LOL. I buy gloves in the spring. Since it’s a ratbike, if anything falls off, I don’t bother replacing the missing pieces.

Local store: Honda of North Hollywood, Pasadena Yamaha, and Temple City Power Sports.
I’ve also bought stators and gaskets on EBay (I mean, geeze, the local store wanted $700 for the stator and gasket; EBay, I got ‘em for $40).
2007 Kawasaki 1600 Nomad
I buy stuff year round, because I can ride year round.
I usually buy from online stores:
jpcycles.com
denniskirk.com
phatperformanceparts.com
mrcycles.com
