I have dunlop on the front and Metzler on the back. Is it a bad thing to mix and match tires on a motorcycle?

Metzlers have a softer compound than the Dunlops. The Metzlers "hug" the road a little better, but wear out quicker.
As a general rule of thumb, do try and use the same types on both wheels. I use Avon Venoms on both my RoadKing and on my Chopper.
If there are not the same compound and profile it might effect your riding. But it’s better to have the same brand tires for your bike.
I’ve done it quite often w/o any major ill effects, sometimes the profile of the tires is higher or lower which changes the handling, of course just changing tire brands does that. I’d run um until I was ready for a new set, just be aware that it might not be perfect for 100% riding.
depends on wearability, and type of riding…Harley recomends Dunlop for wear, and distance…excellent for long rides…travelling, over 18,000 miles on one set on a trip, changed them when i got home.
Look around at used motorcycles this is pretty much the rule as rear tires need replacing much sooner then the front. I don’t think its much of an issue with good name brand tires
Yes! I have run Dunlops from the factory on a new bike and switched both front and back to Metzlers. What a difference rolling into the corners. I know that Metzlers have a patented "zero degree belt" on their tires. Is your Dunlop a radial or bias? Even if it is a radial, the belt geometry will determine how the tire flexes and mixed brands WILL flex differently. Putt putt around town and you are OK but, who putts around town?
at least you dnt have the dunflop on the back….. no your fine, but why would you only get the back metzler…..
best tires… Michelin power pilots.
Metzler M1, and M3.
and my favorite the new: Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3.
dunlops suck… rub your hand over the two tires you have notice how slick the dunflop is and squishy the metzler is…
It’s not going to track the same as factory…Settings.
