I'm looking to buy a used motorcycle (see above) that has less than 5K miles. Engine runs smooth. The only thing wrong with it is the RPM gauge is not working properly. Is this a pretty simple & inexpensive fix?

i want to buy this yamaha r6 of this guy but the title is salvage and the bike is in perfect condition.he told me that the bike received its salvage title because the bike fell over at the dealership and there was a disagreement between the insurance company and the dealership.can that be true???will the bike wroth the same as regular one???thanks
I like Yamaha and Susuki, I'm not that knowledgeable in motorcycles except that I like the body style of crotch rockets. I've recently wanted to purchase one, but I don't know what to buy... any suggestions?
im 17 and im going to buy a yamaha r6 or a honda cbr600rr this month and im wondering about how much insurance would cost. the website quotes take forever to get so id just like to know how much other bikers pay for their insurance.
Does that mean the chain should be changed? I make sure it is very tight but it keeps stretching. I see BRAND NEW 520 SERIES 120 LINK HEAVY DUTY RACING ORING DRIVE CHAIN on ebay site going for bucks. Is that too cheap or a bad brand? What chains are best to buy or is the price within range of what other good ones cost??
Thanks!
I am looking to buy a 08 Yamaha FZ600. Was wondering what I need to look for in buying this new bike. It is labeled as being "like new" and "adult owned". Also, is this a good bike for short and/or long trips? The price is listed under ,700. Second opinion on this price?
I've been trying to read up many sections that discuss this but it's never fully clear to me. I'm gonna be a new rider and I'm definitely gonna be getting either a cbr 600 or R6. No debate. I know I could start with 500 or lower but I'm not going to so don't bother telling me otherwise.. I'm taking a motorcycle course and have friends to help me with my skills so if I die.. I die and I understand that. With that said.. I'm gonna be riding on the street... highway/ city mainly for fun. I love cruising and at the same time impressing the girls. Once my skills are there I'll be practicing wheelies and stuff like that. I really love the look of the new Yamaha R1 but I've been hearing the power delivery was not as abrupt as some expected. The low end is quite sedate and then after 5000 rpm it really starts pulling. As for the CBR 600, I hear it's smooth power all the way up. I don't really understand what all this means. I don't know if I'll even notice the difference by the time I ride.
sorry I meant I love the look of the new R6 ...
Gixxers are alright... but I personally love the R6 .. and I hear nothing but good things about CBR's
I won't have my license for a few months since I lost my regular drivers license due to having some drinks in my system.. (don't worry I'll respect the bike 100%) I know the only way to really know is to actually get on and ride .. but I always hear different things about each bike. What's with this sedate thing with the R6? and how about the CBR being stiff? I'm sorry I am a noob so I'm looking for enlightenment from the pros. Do you honestly think I'll notice the difference between the 2 bikes considering I'm new... and even after a few months of riding on a regular?
I'm 5'11" and 180 lbs. I've never ridden a motorcycle before. One friend suggests that I get this Yamaha Virago 250, which looks a little small to me. I've got another friend who is recommending a Honda Shadow 1100, which is more the size that I was wanting. They both have good reasons for the motorcycles they recommend, I'd like to hear what other people say.
hey i just wanted to know i live in queens newyork and i wanted to know how can i get my motorcycle liscence? i wanna buy a sport bike a yamaha but i need my liscence to use it
Yamaha R1, R6, Honda CBR 600, Kawasaki Ninja?
I started riding a yamaha scooter when i was 9. I then progressed to a suzuki 185 enduro. Then when I was 15 i bought a Honda xr650 to ride around the farm (which i put a few thousand miles on) when i was 16 i got my motorcycle permit so i could ride with my dad and I then bought a 2006 Yamaha FZ6. I put over 11,000mi on it before i ended up selling it. The reason i sold it was because one of my best friends was killed on his Kawasaki 636, but.........that was the first bike he had ever ridden and had ever owned. So now, almost a year later, my question is should i get another bike? The bike i have dreamed about since i was a kid was the Yamaha r6, and that is what i would love to get. I realize it wasn't the bike that killed him, it was rider inexperience and error. Let me know what you think!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Brian
I just bought a 2007 Yamaha Vstar 1100 Classic. I'm trying to buy some engine guards. Various websites have them listed as highway bars and others as engine guards. In the pictures they provide, they appear to have the same basic design. Is there a difference functionality?
i got about 4g's saved up. and im undecided on what to spend it on, either buying a used decent motorcycle (hopefully a yamaha r6) and pay cash, which iv been wanting for a very long time. or spend most of it of the money on restoring my nova to running conditions. what do you guys suggest?
Which motorcycle would you buy? I cannot decide between these two. Which one has a faster top speed? Off the line? What are the pros and cons of each. The prices are relatively similar, so this is not a problem. Thank you in advance for your answers! The most detailed will receive the best answer! Thanks!
Next spring I'm buying a 250 4 stroke motorcycle and will mostly be riding on my friends track and the dunes.
but what i can't decide is what brand to buy. I'll have about ,800 to spend and no newer year than an 07.
I either want a Honda crf250r, and yamaha yz250f, or a suzuki rmz250.
now, tell me what your opinion is on which bike I should buy and why.
thanks
I want to buy this 1996 YZF 600 Yamaha Race Prep Bike
But I really don't know much about bikes yet. Is this a ok bike for a beginner
It will be my first.1999 YAMAHA YZF-R6 (red/white) for 00 with 12000 miles. The bike has 2002 L.E.D. Tailights and paint graphics. It also comes equipped with aftermarket sprocets, 1 down in front and three in the rear. The R-6 also has a custom rear fender eliminator blinker kit already professionally installed, a Yahmaha tech carbon fiber front and rear side blinkers. Brand new H.I.D.Head Lights. Newly polished wheels and jet kit installed. New plugs. And a Da Vinnci exhaust flush mounted. I don't know what everything means and I need it to last me about 6 years.
Hi everyone,
First off, I'm not asking this to be belittled or put down so if that's your only reaction, shut the **** up.
Ok, so when I was just 18 years old, having absolutely no comprehension of finance, my best friend and I decided to buy two shiny new Yamaha R6 motorcycles! Fun, huh? Well now at 21 and three years down the road that one mistake is the single largest I have made in my life.
For one, the bike was bought using a credit card not a loan... I didn't know this until the credit card arrived at my house. The APR on this card... 29.65%. This two was never told to me while I was sitting in the managers office smiling from ear to ear thinking about all the joy this purchase would bring me.
So after three years, I have paid GE Money Bank ,255.65.
The bike brand new was 9k.
I still owe 9k.
I can't do this anymore, twice I saved up 2k+ to take big bites out of the debt only for it to slowly but surely rise back up again. It is impossible for me to pay my way out of this.
What are my options, damage to credit is of no more concern for me, but I will not go as far a bankruptcy. Please help me before I just decide to commit insurance fraud and bury the bike in the desert and report it stolen. (joke)

i am looking to buy this motorcyle but have been away from motorcycles for too many years. looking for information from riders who own Yamaha 650 V-Star 2003 Classic. thank youi.
Alright, I'm only 16 1/2 and I just started riding motorcycles.
For my 16th birthday my dad gave me (it was his from when he was 16) a 1978 Yamaha 650 but I was also thinking about buying a crotch rocket except I dont know that much about them. Please give me some info on what would be a good crotch rocket to buy.
Most I want to spend is ,500
I'm looking for a motorcycle to buy. I'm about 162 cm (5 4") and weigh about 68 kg (150 pounds) i LOVE the heavily chromed, mean look of cruisers, and would definately buy a yamaha vstar650a since its the hottest thing i have ever seen, but i really hate the "legs in front, torso upright" riding position that cruisers have becaue of the foot pegs being so far forward. i was wondering if anyone knew of any cruiser-style motorcycles with a more standard riding position. Also, I am a learner and my state (stupid South Australia) lets me ride a bike with an engine capacity no larger than 660cc with a power-to-weight ratio of 150kw/t.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I am 18 years old and I asked my father to buy me a Yamaha R6, but he keeps arguing that motorcycles are too dangerous. Anyway I was wondering if there are any statistics or data on motorcycle accidents
