We live in central Oklahoma, my son is 14 years old, and we're looking for a short trip that would be fun for him and a friend. Any ideas? They like go karts but already have four wheelers and motorcycles. I was wondering about Dodge City, KS. Is there enough there to make two or three days of it?

I'm concerned about it overheating, or other breakage that such a trip could inflict on the bike. I would drive it 6-8 hours a day, taking my time not pushing it until I got there.
I have a horse and plenty of time so I am thinking about doing such a journey. My friends and family know me for adventures of which includes hitchhiking in Tibet (some horse riding there as well), riding a bicycle from Michigen to Minnesota, as well as motorcycle trips lasting into the thousands of miles. the horse is a gelding dappled white who is very strong and healthy I am planning on doing about 25 miles a day, 30 in easy areas . The horse will be well taken care of and treated with lots of TLC. The journey will include periodic breaks and we will follow the smaller roads. He is a very calm fellow and keeps to himself. He has had all his shots and various medical checkups and passed easily.
I took a trip to California & rented a Harley recently. There were some GREAT routes to cruise around on out there! Nice turns, mountains, great views, & minimal traffic.
I live in the Cleveland area & am relatively new to riding. I have a nice Harley & want to find similar routes in this area. Any ideas?
BTW, I am talking about nice country-side rides, not stuff in the city. I like Lake Rd. out toward Vermillion, but it is so straight it gets boring I like some twists 'n turns. There are alot of bikers out this way, somebody has got to know of a great scenic route!
i dont want to take it more than 10 mi round trip to and from work. Looking for something besides a sport bike
thanks for the great answers, just to add more info on myself im 6'1 and about 175 lbs.
I am in the planning stages of my trip. One thing is that I do NOT want to use chain motels or restaurants but local "mom & pop" places. If any of you have traveled the Trans Canada highway and/or gone into Alaska to Anchorage I would love to hear about locally owned restaurants and motels that are a must to stop at or a must to avoid. Please include a "why" with your answer. Thanks to y'all in advance.
I know someone with a riding bike that plans to take this trip with one other guy. I don't think they know what they are getting themselves into. They both ride non-cruising bikes, and plan to depart from MN at night and drive all night. Any thoughts, knowledge, or words of experience is welcome.
If you could go on a motorcycle trip anywhere in the world from where to where would you go and why?
I think it would be fun to travel in different places on a motorcycle with a buddy or two. If you have taking any tripps like this please do share. My ideal trip would include road riding but also seeing nature on unpaved trails, so probably a dual sport. Also has any one ever tried or heard of people traveling on there motorbikes with and camping on the trails?
thanks
I plan to take it along on a motorcycle trip
In 2004 a had a six month trip all over America. Inspired in the movie "Diaries of a motorcycle". I traveled across 16 countries. We spent 00.00 for three people and I lost 20 pounds of weight!
Very austere trip but worth the adventure and the experiences. I am planning another trip in early 2008 in order to make it to the carnival in Rio.
I am organizing a group of people from all backgrounds. The porpoise of the travel is not only fun and adventure but to raise awareness of all the people in America and the cultural richness that our continent posses.

I'm 21, 5'9'' tall 165 lbs. I'm looking at bikes around 600 cc. I do have some experience riding scooters but none with 200+ cc bikes. I'm planning to use the bike for everyday commuting with the odd highway trip on weekends. Is the Yamaha FZ6N a good option? what are some other similar bikes? Performance, comfort and safety are the main criteria. I prefer naked/street bikes but I'm not too particular. Thanks!
Also have itchy bumps around upper chest area and upper back area. Dr. visit put me on an anahistamine which is doing no good at all. I'm not on any kind of medications and have not changed any of my eating habits. We just returned from a motorcycle trip to Copper Harbor Mi. but these symptoms exisisted before we left for the trip. Any ideas out there?
The book combines the account of a solitary cross country motorcycle trip with the story of a single father raising his son alone ini the early 90s.
I'm completely torn between fuel efficiency and power. I could get a 250cc with awesome gas mileage but they're just not strong enough for a long trip.
I would like to find a 500 or 600 cc bike that will still get me at least 60mpg. I'm not going to drive it really fast or race it. Any suggestions?
I need to know how safe they are and if they are reliable. Also if they are where I could maybe get a good deal on one. I am going on a day road trip with my boyfriend and am a little nervous about riding on a seat that isn't bolted to the bike. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you so much!!
hi, I have a Honda XR 125. It says the maximum weight i can carry is about 159kg. I plan to go for a weekend trip and carry myself and partner, and about 40kg of gear totaling about 190kg. aside from the handling which I plan to go really slow and take it easy, Are there any other problems? is it really dangerous? we are only going about 4 hours away, unloading, camping and then returning

Just got my m license today, after taking a 20 hour training course. I have a buddy who wants to rent harleys and go on a road trip somewhere. is it too early for me to do this? ido you think like 1200 cc's is too much bike for a beginner? or am i just being paranoid?
It has been using too much oil since past one year. The noise started couple of days ago when we returned from long trip. It has oil. The engine used to rev up every few seconds and calm down while ideling, at park or stop with brakes on.
I drive 106 miles round trip freeway. What kind should I buy to get a good MPG. I don't want to buy a scooter. Any other advise will be greatly apresciated.
famous person, allergy doctor, born in argentina, served cuban government, failed to start a revolution in bolivia, had a 8-month motorcycle trip. Who am i?
Motorcycle
bus
Car
train
Van
RV/motorhome
Campervan
or anything else you can think of.
But, you CAN'T say boat or airplane, because it's a ROAD trip! XD
I personally would want a car without a trailer. We can buy food and such from liquor stores and stay at hotels.
I think it'd be fun! <3
I am going to be making a trip to Colorado on my R6 in about a month and I want to know what are some good songs to jam to while im cruising. I like rock and rap so i am open to almost anything.
Im looking for some harder rock. Like Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock.
I am going up to Michigan Tech this fall and am wondering if it is worth taking my bike knowing that I will soon have to make a trip back to Flint to swap for my car.
