I Know this is not a classified adds site, but I am not wanting to sell or buy anything. I want to TRADE.
I have a 2000 Honda RC51 Race motorcycle (1000cc) That is currently in street trim. I also have a bunch of spair parts for it. The bike was pro built and tuned for compitition racing. Yes it was raced. It is not for a beginner rider. It is to difficult to price out and sell everything separatly, so I would rather skip it and just offer it as a trade for what I now want.
A SEA DOO Power boat. (Challenger or Sportster)
Is there anyone who would like to trade their Sea Doo Boat for a Sport Motorcycle?
I am dead serious about this.
I have almost ,000 us dollars inversted in this machine and am willing to let it go for a new or lightly used powerboat.
I grew up in Florida, and miss playing in the water. Now I live in Illinois, and only have a few small lakes nearby. A small Jet boat would be perfect for the area and activities I injoy doing in water.

I'm a 16-year-old guy with my basic license. I’m going into my senior year and looking to buy a bike, nothing over 600cc. I've been saving my money from part time jobs for the past two years and have saved about 8 grand, after buying my self a car. With gas prices soaring it's starting to seem unreasonable to have a car with bad mpg for my only mode of transportation. I've always been a fan of motorcycles due to their sporty look and great handling. My parents aren't really supportive of me buying a bike, not due to my lack of responsibility or skill, but due to the lack of responsibility of other drivers. They think that if I drive a bike I'm going to pull out of the driveway and get hit buy a semi. I am about to enroll myself in a motorcycle safety course and more defensive driving courses; unfortunately the parents still have a problem. How should I go about convincing them in a polite way to let me buy MYSELF a motorcycle?

Hello,
After ending the riding season towards the end of last fall, my bike has been stored in my shed until now. When I attempted to start it, my bike was completely dead.
I attempted to hook it up to a quick-charge system. Ordinarily, after doing this for a few minutes, I would be able to start a bike up--even if it meant the charger had to stay on. But, even with the charger still hooked up, there's no dice.
I'm kind of broke at the moment, so can't afford to have it towed to the shop and such. I also don't want to experiment with buying parts. What could it be? Is it likely the battery, or would it be the regulator? Any other things to try before I purchase one of these?
Thanks!!

I live in California and I bought a vintage motorcycle several years ago at a flea market mainly for the parts because the seller had no paperwork on it(no title, etc). He said he had bought it many years ago also for the parts, and he didn't receive any paperwork for it. He said he doubts that it's even on DMV files anymore. The bike is pretty dirty and beat up but almost all the parts are there and are original. I would rather resore it than pull parts off of it. There is a number on the frame but I can't find one on the engine. Is it possible to get a title for this motorcycle if it's not on DMV record? If it is on record that someone owned it, say, 30 or 40 years ago, does that person then have to be contacted? Also, are motorcycles registered by their frame number or their engine number, or both? Thanks for any info you can give me about this!

I have been having this ongoing issue with this bike. When riding and in gear, I feel this clicking/popping on the clutch lever when I ride. It cause the cable to break once. I replaced the cable and did the proper cable adjustment and still no go. The clicking is still there. I cleaned and re-greased the caliper that pushes the clutch rod thinking that maybe the issue and no go. still the same issue. I'm convinced it is the clutch itself that is causing the clicking/popping and pushing on the clutch rod. Anyone have any experience with this? Its hard to find a shop that will work on these older bikes so I'm going to have to tackle this myself and any advise will help. Know of any good places I can buy clutch parts? Thanks

Where would you get them? I saw a really nice truck and on the website it said Arlen Ness made them and installed them but I googled Arlen Ness and it said they made motorcycle parts. Can you put motorcycle mirrors on a car? Where would I go to buy custom side mirrors for my truck? Thanks a bunch.

I am looking around for a motorcycle to buy, but I don't know if I'm better off buying a newer one at a pretty hefty price, or an older one with "minor" problems. The one I've been looking at is a 86 Suzuki I think maybe 650cc? (forgive me for not knowing more) It looks good. The owner says "it leaks gas". What does that mean? I'm sure there are several things it could be. I have enough mechanically inclined family members that I'm thinking they could do the repairs, but I don't know what parts I'd need to look for, or how much they run. Yeah, any ideas, I'd appreaciate.
He got a newer, bigger, awesomer motorcycle. He's strapped for cash right now, and I am thinking I could get him down to about 0. So I didn't know if the cost of potential repairs would leave me in a good place or not.

I want to get an 08 or newer yamaha r6.I have a part time job making a little over minimum wage and I am going to start stripping a few nights a month. I am almost 19 and would like my parents not to know about the job, but if they find out, whatever. So pretty much I am trying to figure out how I can manage this on my own. I have no credit, but I am responsible. Also I have a clean driving record and am on good student discount for insurance on my car.
What would payments look like for a 8-10,000 bike?
Also what would full coverage insurance be like (approx) a month?

Then i am a ditz I do not deny it. I get lost at Mc. dees. He going to buy a motorcycle for us to ride in. It is going to be the blind leading the dyslexic person with bad direction. Go figure everyone in my family is a pilot my aunt owns a helicopter company,I get lost so easy.
He going to drive down spend time here. then i am going to drive back up with him. I think i am going o make him put training wheels on his motorcycle.
We also going to Germany together. He is my cousin, marine. Do you think I'll end up dead?

Does anyone know of a website that is a good place to order parts for a motorcycle? I would like to build my own, piece by piece. The complete kits can't work for me because I can't afford to buy it all at once. Anyways, I like the idea of picking out every part. Also, a good place to get instructions on how to do this, I unfortunately don't have any mechanical experience. But I would love to learn as I go. I don't mind this taking me months or even a few years to complete.

I'm in Missouri...
I bought a motorcycle back in January to rebuild as a project. I didn't know I had to have the vin number verified as its a out of state title and since I didn't have a truck I couldn't transport it to get it verified.
Soo... the bike sat in my carport till I had a chance to tear it down to the frame, put the frame in my trunk, and then get it verified many months later.
So I go to get a new title and apparently there is a fee for every month that its late... and I've hit the maximum of 0. Normal fees are only .
I really don't want to pay a 0 late fee on a bike that I only paid 0 for. But I don't want to part it out as I've got lots of good parts that I want to built a running bike.
What can I do? Try to find a new frame for less? Or is there any way to appeal a late fee? Would it be easier to just get a new title outright for the frame?

I am thinking about building my own motorcycle and I was just wondering what is the process to get a title and license plates for it? I am going to buy all the parts and build the frame myself so I will not have a VIN number. How do I get a VIN number? Will I have to stamp it into the frame somewhere? Will I have to have safety inspections or emission tests on the bike? Is there any specific measurement requirements(does it have to so long, so high, minimun weight or anything like that)?
Thanks for any comments

I bought a motorcycle used. I test rode it and it started up fine...and the owner had just bought (and installed while I was there) a new battery for it. For the next 2 weeks it ran perfectly.
However, after that one day I started it up and it started up fine and I noticed the engine start to die out and stall randomly while I accelerated in 3rd gear. And when I tried to start it, all I heard was clicking.
I thought "dead battery"...but I checked the connector (all were tight) and then I charged it up off my car and used starter fluid and it started.
Then it ran for a bit, and randomly then died again (crap).
Something is obviously wrong...
What parts do you believe need to be replaced, if any, or is it likely as simple as a dead fuse somewhere?

I'm 17. and almost 5 foot 3. I am looking to buy my first motorcycle but I do not like cruisers at all so I'm leaning towards getting a sports bike. the difficult part is seat height considering my height so what would a good starter bike be? also if it is a bit high, what can I do to lower the seat height? (if that is possible)
I'm 105 pounds, and need to be able to hold the bike with 2 feet while standing, so height does matter a lot.

I bought a 1994 yamaha fzr600 for 0 cash with no title about 2 years ago from a friend in my town. he bought it from my neighbor. my neighbor signed the title over to him. he had it registered, licensed, and insured w/ 45 day plates. drove the bike and everything. well he ended up neglecting the bike and playing around w/ it in the neighborhood and wrecking it. he never rode it again. when i bought it ,it wasnt running and missing parts but for about 0 i got it ready to go, during this time he(the guy who had the bike)was getting the paperwork ready and got shipped to iraq! his mom moved 400 miles away and they sold the house where they were staying and couldnt find they title it has been 2 yrs and i cannot get in touch with him! What are my options?
I really want to get this bike on the road after so many hard hours of cleaning and fixing this bike!
(i live in south carolina)I got in contact with the guy he is in Korea but I cant get a mailing address from him!! ugghh!!
He told me to let his cousin do the signing for him but on the form 400 from the dmv for a duplicate asks for a sc drivers license # which he doesnt have
anyhow he is being hard to deal with
what are my odds on a forged bill of sale (by his cousin with his permission of course)
and no title?
IN RESPONSE ABOUT THE POWER OF ATTORNEY IF YOU GO TO
http://www.ilrg.com/forms/powerofattorney-gd/us/sc
THE FORM NEEDS TO B E SIGNED AND NOTARIZED BY A SC NOTARY PUBLIC

I have a 2001 600cc Suzuki Katana. I bought this bike dirt cheap from a friend that recked it, and I've fully restored it. BUT, the parts I used are different colors. So, I'm not looking for a custom paint job. I just wanted to get it painted a solid color, nothing fancy. I was just wondering where would be a place to go without spending a fortune?

For the past month month my boyfriend has been saving up to buy a motorcycle so we never went out and did anything. We just sat at home. Now that he has his motorcycle it seems its more important then me. He is buying parts for it and fixing it up. He told me weeks ago that he would buy a battery for my car. I would buy it, but I got laid off so I have no money to buy one. I won't even get started about what happened yesterday because then I'll start ranting. I just don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice?
I have been trying to find a job, but it's not easy.

I slam Bush every chance I get and one member (BEV) thinks I should be a conservative because I know the Old Harley Motorcycle and how they work.
I started building pans from baskets before after market Harley parts were available. I can say this, I had meaningful employment under Democrats where I could buy more parts for my bikes and when Bush was in Dad and son I could not spend as much on my bikes.

...that are honda design engines ? Like, clone engines, the parts should interchange.
The idea is to buy them cheap and then put performance parts in them that are meant for a "real" honda engine.
I have one myself, a 90cc "panterra" chinese brand dirtbike that is actually a honda 86cc motor. I can buy a honda 86cm3 sized piston from honda and install it if i wanted to.

kinds of new parts and when I started putting them on the bike none of them were fitting I called yamaha and when they seached by the vin number they say the bike is a 99 yz250. I called the store I got it from and they just hung up on me. My receipt says I bought 2002 and I am now out about 600 for all the accessories I bought that wont fit on the bike. What should be my next step and can I get back any of the money Im out for the parts? I bought most on ebay so I cant return them. Thanks

I'm 17 years old and I just got my first job by the end of the summer I'll have somewhere around 3.5 grand and I'm keeping the job during the school year on saturdays and sundays, so I was thinking instead of me wasting all my money on computer parts building a PC like I was planning on or a game console or anything why not buy something I might need in the future and would make things easier for me so I thought MOTORCYCLEEEEEEE my dad used to ride one in Afghanistan and highly encouraged me but now I think he's having some second thoughts.. My mother I know is going to have a heart attack thinking of me riding it, and pretty much all of my friends think I'm an idiot for wanting to ride one. I was never scared about riding a bike before I always thought as long as you're prepared mentally, have the skill, and good gear your life isn't in extreme danger, plus I've seen more car crashes than bike crashes and I'm not afraid. How should I convince my family that I'm ready I was thinking just taking some motorcycle lessons and then proving to them I'm able to do it. I want to ride the motorcycle from and to school in the city I live in queens so it's about a 30 minute trip.
One last question how much do you think insurance will cost me I'm 17 year old male living in NYC planning on getting a Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
I'm turning 18 on Jan 4
