Salvage comes when the cost to fix damage exceeds the value of the bike. Unless it was dropped from the roof, its probably a sure bet hes lying to you. It would be in your better interest to purchase a different bike, there are tons of good deals on bikes. Search a little.
a salvage title on anything will depreciate the value and it could be harder to sell in the future
I would highly doubt that a bike that is just knocked over in a dealership would have a salvage title. Usually if there is a salvage title on something it is because to fix it properly at a shop the cost of the damage would exceed the work need to fix the piece of equipment.
Anything with a salvage title is a risk! If fixed right and u can pick it up at the right price then its a risk than pans out in a good way! But u could also be buying a bike that was hacked together and worth shit. The bike will probably be worth 20 to 40 percent less then a experience well maintained bike.
sell if it fell say off the truck or trailer ..it is passable . salvage title come when it cost more to fix than worth .. with the cost of plastic parts as well as head lights and labor it is very possible .. just look the bike over really close .. look a the mounts frame neck and that the tale section is center of the rear wheel . this could be a good deal if you plan to keep the bike for a long time and ride it. if you plan to buy and sell later you might want to pass on it . salvage titled bikes can be harder to sale . In some states you can have the bike reinspected and they will give you a clean title. Tim
He is lying through his teeth. If you buy this bike, you are asking for nothing but trouble because it is probably stolen.
You should not buy this Bike. I think the guy could be telling you an untruth. Something other then the bike "Falling over" happened. If you do buy this I think because It has a salvage title you are in your right to both see It and find out what exactly made It a "Salvage" vehicle. You will probably have a hard time reselling It. So, you may be "Stuck" with It.
