2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R or 2006/2007 Suzuki GS500F?
I'm looking to buy my first motorcycle and I've managed to narrow my choices down to motorcycles: a Kawasaki Ninja 250R and a Suzuki GS500F. I found both models at pretty much the same price used, no chance of buying new since this will be my first bike. Which one is a better choice? I won't be riding on the highway all too often but the occasional 1 or 2 hour ride is possible. Also on an optional side note, is the Yamaha FZ6R a good starter bike at all as the company claims? Thanks in advance.

2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R
The Suzuki GS500F don’t seem to last as long & the resale value is bad.
well, im about to start riding and my dad has been for a long time. Currently i think the best bike for you would be the ninja since your only starting. the 500 seems a little too big for a beginner and you’ll have a much higher chance of an accident with a more powerful bike like that especially a sport. The ninja i hear is a good bike and very easy on beginners. I personally am riding a honda CD 125. As a rule of thumb anything over 300 is a bit big for beginners. Start off slow. you’ll probably end up buying another bike later anyways. Also check out this site its VERY informative http://www.chuckhawks.com/good_first_motorcycles.htm
They are both good learner bikes, but the 250 will not do 1 hr on the highway. The 250 can do 70 mph, but it’s not designed to cruise at that speed for a long time. So the GS is a better choice. It isn’t that much heavier than the 250, but it has more power. Don’t worry about it having too much power. 8^)
The FZ6R is also a good starter bike. Probably as good as the GS 500, but a bit bigger and heavier still.
Whichever you choose, be sure you can sit on it with both feet flat on the ground.
